What a way to start the season!  A very impressive victory over 20th ranked Southern California.  This was the 10th consecutive opening game victory for BAMA, all under Coach Saban.  I had the opportunity to attend the game and it was quite noticeable how quickly the USC fans went from very boisterous to almost silent.

New Bag Policy for Bryant-Denny Stadium
Earlier this summer, we announced the implementation this fall of a new clear bag policy for our football games at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The University has modified its security policy by limiting the size and style of bags allowed into the stadium, all done in the interest of improved safety for everyone entering the facility.

Just as a reminder, here’s the message from our press release:
Prohibited bags include, but are not limited to, the following: all purses, bags or containers larger than a small clutch purse (4½” x 6½”), coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases (binoculars may be worn around the neck), diaper bags and seat cushions with pockets zippers or compartments.

To be approved for entry into the stadium, bags or purses must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC, and cannot exceed 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches in size. Small, one-compartment, clutch purses that do not exceed 4½ inches by 6½ inches (with or without a handle or strap) also will be permitted. All bags will be subject to inspection at the gate and may be subject to additional inspection inside the stadium.

An exception will be made for medical necessary items after proper inspection at specified stadium gates. All ticketed guests (except North/South Zone, North/South Field Suite, & students) needing medical bag exceptions must enter through Gate 8 or Gate 44. If you have a medical bag exception and have a North Zone/North Field Suite ticket, you must enter at Gate 3. If you have a medical bag exception and have a South Zone/South Field Suite, or student ticket, you must enter at Gate 27.
