Hi, all. I wanted to let you know about some great news that has come our way regarding our tornado relief fundraiser this Friday. Jake Peavy, Alabama native and pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, has agreed to match all funds that are raised that evening!

What this means is that the $10 donation from each wristband in effect turns into $20. We will also accept additional donations that night. The event runs from 6-9 p.m., but several of us will be there by 5:30 to set up if anybody wants to stop by and drop off a donation. We will also have our Roll Tide Chicago t-shirts for sale at a special price, with all proceeds going to the relief fund. So if you didn’t get one last year, you have no excuses now!

If you can’t make it to the Houndstooth on Friday, the chapter is recommending the following options for donations:
West Alabama Red Cross:
UA Acts of Kindness Fund, set up by the University for employees and students who need assistance:
Give Tuscaloosa, set up by the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce:
A UA fraternity brother of Marc Brafman’s has this fundraiser going:
Finally, check out this auction of Sports Illustrated covers, all featuring Alabama football. Proceeds from the auction benefit the Red Cross:
Looking forward to seeing many of you on Friday as we send some much-needed relief to our beloved T-town.
